Manchester Airport (MAN) is England's biggest regional airport with three terminals: T1 (now largely closed for the £1bn Manchester Airport Transformation Programme), T2 (the new main terminal for long-haul and most short-haul) and T3 (Jet2 and select carriers).
This guide covers the correct meeting point per terminal, the £5 forecourt drop-off charge, and typical fixed cross-border fares between MAN and Scotland — including Helensburgh, Glasgow, Loch Lomond and Edinburgh.
Pick-up & drop-off zones
Terminals: T1, T2 and T3.
T2 — Pick-up car park (pre-booked)
Pre-booked private hire vehicles for T2 meet in the multi-storey pick-up car park directly opposite T2 arrivals — a 3-minute step-free walk via the covered link bridge. First 30 minutes free with an ANPR-read plate.
T3 — Pick-up car park (pre-booked)
T3 pre-booked pick-up uses the multi-storey opposite T3 arrivals, connected by a covered walkway. Same 30-minute free window applies at the ANPR barrier.
Taxi rank (black cabs)
Metered black cabs wait on the rank outside each active terminal. Convenient for Manchester city centre but do not offer fixed fares for longer runs to Scotland or the Lake District.
Drop-off zone (£5 / 5 min)
The kerbside drop-off zone on the forecourt is £5 for up to 5 minutes; any longer and premium tariffs apply. Payment is card / contactless only at the exit ANPR barrier.
JetParks 1 — Free drop-off
JetParks 1 is a short shuttle from all terminals and offers 60 minutes free — ideal for step-free unloading with wheelchair users, pushchairs, or extended goodbyes.
Meeting your driver (arrivals)
- Clear immigration and collect luggage in the baggage hall for your terminal (T2 or T3).
- Follow signs to Arrivals and, for pre-booked pick-up, walk across the covered link bridge to the multi-storey pick-up car park directly opposite your terminal.
- Your driver texts you the bay number as soon as your flight is on stand.
- For meet-and-greet (+£25) the driver waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board — best if you are travelling with children, luggage or accessibility needs.
Being dropped off
- Ask your driver to use the forecourt drop-off zone (£5, up to 5 minutes) for a quick kerbside drop directly outside your terminal.
- If you need step-free unloading or more time, choose JetParks 1 (60 minutes free) with a short shuttle to the terminal.
- Payment for the drop-off charge is card / contactless at the exit ANPR barrier — cash is not accepted.
